Members of the selection committee were introduced for “the Most Beautiful Dreams” competition in the 6th Khorshid Film Festival

Members of the selection committee were introduced for “the Most Beautiful Dreams” competition in the 6th edition of Khorshid Independent Film Festival.

Members of the selection committee for “the Most Beautiful Dreams” competition include “Fariba Rostami”, “Abdullah Khoda Karimi”, “Reza Kamali”, and “Amin Dorostkar “. They will select the accepted films in this field of festival after reviewing all the received works to the competitive “the Most Beautiful Dreams” films section.

Fariba Rostami

Fariba Rostami was born in Khorramshahr in 1978. She is graduated in Film directing, Bachelor degree from Soureh University and received her master degree in Dramatic Literature from Tarbiyat Modares University.

She entered Cinema in 2004 by making documentaries such as “Sheikh Baad”, “Dela”, “2 Gheseh, 2 Saaz “( 2 stories, 2 musical instruments) about Hormozgan province. She has also worked in the field of industrial documentaries. “Ghabe Tanhayee” (Solitude Frame), an experimental documentary is considered as a successful work which was present in 4th edition of Khorshid Film Festival and won the award for the best documentary in Iran Cinema and 12 edition of Action on Film Festival in U.S.A. She also produced two impressive films named “Taboor” and “Younes” directed by Vahid Vakilifar in her career which received precious awards from valid international festivals.

Abdullah Khoda Karimi

Abdullah Khoda Karimi was born in Bandar Abbas in 1960. He is graduated as a film expert from TV Film School and received his master degree in theater from Islamic Azad University. He is also teaching at Applied Science University, Farhangiyan University, and Young Cinema Society. He was the Jury of Student Film Festival in Applied Science University of Culture Ministry, Tehran Video Film Festival, Hormozgan Local and National Young Cinema, Provincial Theater and Razavi Festival for Ministry of Culture, Enghelab Art Center and director of three editions of fiction and Persian Gulf Festival.

He wrote the script for “Kheyzaran” feature film , research on Animism and “Zaar Rite”, Rahil ” play, “Chakavak” and two other plays and script such as “Dar Miyan Amvaj” (Within Waves), “Ghalbe ma Khaneye Toost” (Our Heart is Your Home).

The films he directed are: “Safare Eshgh” (Love Journey), ” Oboor az Atash” (Crossing Fire), “Abi Asemani” (Azure blue), “Safare Boodan” (The Journey for Existence), ” Sedaye Yeki Boodan” (The Voice of Unity), “Sakht va Ziba”, (Hard and Beautiful), “Khake Sorkh”(Red land), ” Teshneh Bar Sahel” (Thirsty on the Beach), Series of “Khesht va Ayeneh” (Clay and Mirror), “Berkeh” (Lake), “Oje Eshgh” (The Peak of Love), “Sofreye Zaar “, “Sokoot Na” (No Silence), ” Hayahoo Ari”, (Commotion Yes), “Seyr” (Journey), “Abi Be Range Darya” (Blue like Sea).

Reza Kamali

Reza Kamali was born in 1975 in Bandar Abbas. He was graduated in film directing with Bachelor degree and received his master degree in Dramatic Literature and his Ph.D in Media and culture.

He is a lecturer in Azad University, main director in TV. He was production manager, advisor to the Director General of Radio and TV, director of the Strategic Council of Persian Gulf. Moreover he is the member of the Board of Jeron Filmmaking Cooperative and general director of Tasvigarane Zarkan Company.

His research records to be pointed out are: writing dramatic capacities in new poetry, grammar of image language, translating the book about principals of script writing for TV, comparative study about the culture and dialect of Hormozgani people and Maharashtra in India and research cooperation with Niyavaran Artistic Creation Foundation.

Other activities are: being the Jury of Film and Theater festivals, writing, directing and producing short films and TV programs such as ” Koocheye Pirmardha” (Alley of Old Men), ” To Agar Bemani in Khak” (If you Stay this Land…), “Khane Khane Ast” (Home is Home), ” Nameh be Navab” (A Letter to Navab), “Golam koo Golam” (Where is my flower). He is the executive director of the first Scientific, Cultural and Artistic Conference of Moj with the subject of the role of art in reducing social damage.

Amin Dorostkar

Amin Dorostkar was born in 1984 in Bandar Abbas. He is graduated in Cinema Expert from Yazd Culture and Arts University and studying master degree in film directing in Soureh University.

He started filmmaking career in Young Cinema Society in Bandar Abbas Office and has been in charge of Film Club. He received the special Jury Award from 3rd Ordibehesht Festival, Letter of Appreciation from the Top Cinema activist in Hormozgan Cinema Ceremony, Letter of Appreciation for Hormozgan Prominent Artist and Letter of Appreciation from Hormozgan Art Center for his artistic activities.

He has the following titles in his career:

Executive Director of Ordibehesht 5,8 Festival, Director of Tasvirsazan Filmmaking Office,teaching at IYCS, film expert in Islamic Culture Administration and director of the Supervisory Council and film distribution in Hormozgan.

 Other activities to point out are: producing more than 8 short films and directing films such as “Nasl” (Generation), “Sale Sefr” (The Year Zero).

۶th Khorshid independent film festival which is considered as a special event in independent and experimental cinema in Iran, directed by Mehdi Yarmohamadi will be held in May 2017 in Bandar Abbas, Hormozgan province with the cooperation of Hormozgan Islamic Culture Administration, with free Genre and the message of “Respect to Human and Nature” in several sections including competitive section for “Independent and Experimental films”, competitive section “the most beautiful dreams”, competitive section for articles related to experimental cinema, international section comprised “A Review of Best experimental short films in Cannes, 2016”, and “A Review of experimental short films in world cinema history”.
