Members of the selection committee were introduced for Independent and Experimental films competition in the 6th round of Khorshid Independent Film Festival.

Members of the selection committee for Independent and Experimental films competition include “Ali Mohammad Ghasemi”, “Rahbar Ghanbari”, “Pegah Ahangarani”, “Mohammad Reza Roknodini”, and Mehdi Yarmohammadi”. They will select the accepted films in this field of festival after reviewing all the received works to the competitive “Independent and Experimental Films ” section.

Pegah Ahangarani

Pegah Ahangarani was born in 1984. She started acting since she was six years old in “Singing Cat” directed by Kambooziya Partovi. She outperformed in her second film named ” A girl with sneakers ” at the age of 15 successfully to be able to receive several awards from valid national and international festivals. She also had successful acting in films such as “Zendan Zanan” (Women Prison),”Atash Sabz ” ( Green Fire), “Rah Abi Abrisham” ( Silk Road Waterway), “Vorood Aghayan Mamnoo” ( No men allowed), “Max”, “Zadboom”(Birthplace), “Agha Yousef “(Mr. Joseph), “Sedaha”(Voices), “Khab Zemestani”(Hibernation), ” 3 Zan”(3 Women), “Tabagheh Sevom”(3rd Floor), etc. Ahangarani directed some documentary films such as “seeb”(Apple), “Tamashakhaneh” (Theater), “Mohakat Ghazaleh Alizadeh”. She also acted successfully in plays named “Menhaye 2” (Minus 2), “Motevaled 1361″ (Born in 1982),”Shargh Shargh Ast” ( East is East), “Pavaraghi” (Footnote). Ahangarani has received many valid awards from national and international film festivals including Honor Diploma in the second round of Abadan International Social Films, award for the best role-playing in Films for children and young adults festival of Isfehan, award for the best actress in Cairo film festival, Berlin festival citation, award for the best actress in Locarno Film Festival, and winning Simurgh Bloorin( Crystal Phoenix) for the best supporting actress in 31st round of Fajr Festival.

Rahbar Ghanbari

Rahbar Ghanbari was born in 1961 in Ardabil. He was graduated from Islamic Filmmaking Training Center. He worked as a lecturer teaching photography, script writing and directing from 1988 to 1994. He has directed more than 30 fiction and documentaries, 12 long video film and 5 features. He has written several series and short films and cinematic experience in his career. He participated in more than 120 national and international film festivals including Clermont-ferrand short film festival in France, Monte Catini  in Italy, Tampere Finland, Dresden Germany, Antalya Turkey, Heydar Abad India, Monaco in France, Children and Young adults in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Children and Young Adults in Cairo Egypt, Children and Young Adults Olympia Greece, Asia pacific Fukuoka in Japan, Moscow Festival in Russia, Gijon ( Xixon) in Spain, Imagineindia International Film festival Madrid, Spain, Action On Film international Film  Festival , New York, etc… and received several  awards.

Ali Mohammad Ghasemi

Ali Mohammad Ghasemi was born in 1970 in Malayer. He started his filmmaking career from 1985. He has directed 40 documentaries, short and half-length fiction including documentaries named “Ta An Andazeh Door” (So much away), “Moj Bar Sahel” (Waves on Beach), “Gozaresh Shanbeh” (Saturday Report), “Jazireh Sagha” (Dogs Island), “Piyadeh Dar Zaman” (Walking in Time), short fictions such as “Biganeh va Boomi”, (Foreign and Local), “Baad Sorkh” (Red Wind). Ghasemi managed to Shoot 20 films and 100 documentaries and fictions produced and directed the development of more than 50 documentaries and two feature film in his career. He has participated in more than 100 national and international film festivals including Cannes, Venice, Clermont-Ferrand, Busan, etc.

Mohammad Reza Roknodini

Mohammad Reza Roknodini was born in Bandar Abbas in 1980. He started his Cinema activities in Iranian Young Cinema Society.

He is the founder of Avant-garde Cinema Center, founder of Cinematographic group, chairman of Board of Directors of Hormoz Ontology Filmmakers ‘ Film Company. He is in charge of Hormozgan Institute for Film Art, a member of Policymaking Coucil and issuing license to display film in Hormozgan. He has experienced film reviewing, teaching and analyzing film, editing and directing experimental films in his career. Among his works following films can be mentioned: “Az Daftar Khaterat Dokhtar Javan” ( The Young Girl’s Diary), Zardha Bihoodeh Ghermez Nashodand” ( Yellow didn’t Turn Red in Vain), “Man far mahdoodeye Edrak” ( I am Falling to Understand), ” Anche Berson Migooyad va Mohammad Reza” ( What Berson says, What Mohammad Reza), “Dastane Zan va Sibzamini) ” Story of the Woman and the Potato), “Zendegi Ziba” ( Beautiful Life), “Zan Nazanin” (Dear Wife), “Zan MiAfarinad” ( Woman Creates), ” Mohakemeh Zan Nashenas” ( Trial of the Unknown Woman), etc… . He has taken part successfully in national and international Festivals.

Mehdi Yarmohammadi

Mehdi Yarmohammadi was born in Shahrood in 1978. He graduated in physics from Shahrood University of Technology. He is the director and founder of specialized database to support the independent short film, director and founder of Khorshid Independent Film Festival, director and member of selection committee in six rounds of Khorshid Independent Film Festival, founder of Collection of Works Donated by Artists, distributor of short films and documentaries, Jury member in SAHAR Festival, Manchester, England, Jury member in the 12th Festival of Action On Film, U.S.A. He received Appreciation Letter from UN envoy with honor. His woks received several awards from valid national and international film festivals. The films are “Kharghani”, “Shayad” ( Maybe), “Gissooye Ashofteye Zamin” ( Earth Disheveled Tress), ” Paboos” ( Pilgrim), “30”,”Baam Behesht”, ( The Roof of Heaven”, “Haft Salam “, (Seven Regards), “Bam Emerges with New Looks”, Aroose Aab”, ( Water’s Bride), “Koocheye Janoon”, ( Janoon Alley), “Rasmestan”, ” Gheyre Motearef” (Unusual).

۶th Khorshid independent film festival which is considered as a special event in independent and experimental cinema in Iran, directed by Mehdi Yarmohamadi will be held in May 2017 in Bandar Abbas, Hormozgan province with the cooperation of Hormozgan Islamic Culture Administration, with free Genre and the message of “Respect to Human and Nature” in several sections including competitive section for “Independent and Experimental films”, competitive section “the most beautiful dreams”, competitive section for articles related to experimental cinema, international section comprised “A Review of Best experimental short films in Cannes, 2016”, and “A Review of experimental short films in world cinema history”.
